Man if I was Clara and I had to spend several months trekking back to the TARDIS on only my third trip, I would seriously be rethinking my life.

anonymouscatt asked,
I loved All Dogs Go to Heaven as a kid, but my mom absolutely hated it because it included things like gambling and drinking and the devil. I would go watch it at my grandma's house and feel like a rebel.

It’s super dark for a kids’ movie, ngl. When I was little I always preferred the sequel and the TV series, probably because they were more colourful and fun and I liked Sasha and Annabelle. When I rewatched them as an adult I was forced to admit that the series and the sequel are pretty shit, lmao, and the first one is much better — but I was also shocked by how dark it is. Child abuse and murder and gambling and alochol and all this stuff, I can’t imagine that kind of thing being put in an animated movie these days tbh.

ALSO YEAH. THE SCENE WHERE THE DEVIL TRIES TO DRAG HIM TO HELL. Jeeze.

I once made super salty cookies by accidentally putting in a tablespoon of salt instead of a teaspoon. tbsp and tsp are really easy to confuse.
It might’ve been that although I’m pretty confident I used the right amount of salt because I was obsessively checking everything. My mom thinks it might also be a typo in the recipe we have — maybe it was meant to be baking powder, not baking soda.

Richard III was disfigured and Scar is, well, scarred, but that’s all I can think of… um, Richard III actually succeeded in killing his nephews whereas Scar failed?
yeah I was thinking the disfigured thing. I was also wondering if Richard III was like, particularly crafty or something — but Claudius is pretty crafty in his own right so. Does the kingdom go to shit more under Richard? idr

anonymouscatt asked,
Jeff/Annie or Eleven/River?

image

I think objectively Jeff/Annie is less offensive, but I think subjectively Jeff/Annie ruins things for me a lot more than Eleven/River does, so I guess that means I pick Eleven/River. Jeff/Annie is like raisins in the otherwise delicious oatmeal cookie that is Community.

LOL but imagine flashbacks to previous companions all being like Rose in EOT2. “She’s actually younger here. Really.”
THAT WOULD ONLY MAKE IT FUNNIER
omfg if they did this I would forgive moffat for like….60% of the things. GOSH REMEMBER THAT TIME WE WERE STRANDED ON A SPICE GIRLS PLANET
ikr the more i think about it the more awesome i realize it is. omfG they could paste together various doctors’ speeches like they pasted together all of jeff’s speeches oMG WHY AM I NOT WRITING THIS SPECIAL TBQH

even Journey’s End wasn’t a whole story, you needed TSE to set it all up. 60 minutes doesn’t sound like enough time to do much of anything.
lmao maybe it’ll be a montage/flashback episode

MAYBE IT’LL BE LIKE THAT FLASHBACK EPISODE OF COMMUNITY WHERE IT FLASHES BACK TO EPISODES WE NEVER EVEN SAW actually that’d be hilarious

anonymouscatt said: Also I never see people criticizing new fans for only watching b/c Karen Gillan is hot. So…

women are allowed to be hot and objectified by the audience without detracting from the SRS PLOT, i mean what else are actresses even there for anyway

however everyone knows a girl can’t be attracted to a man on screen without her brain melting out her ears leaving her incapable of rational thought and rendering all her opinions immediately irrelevant

which one is it?

It’s a quote from Mindy Kaling about playing the only Indian-American female lead on US tv. It’s a good quote, but it’s also a few months old so I’m not sure why it resurfaced now.

anonymouscatt asked,
man the Toby/Nellie thing was so weird. just... why?

it was weird. like I thought she was just going to yell at him to shut up, and then I thought maybe she was just going to play off the kiss thing like “anything to shut him up”

then when he went for it I thought she’d shove him away and be like BYE but she seemed pretty into it

?????? idk i guess we’ll see how it develops, she’s never seemed into him before. in the halloween ep she did not seem to want.

Yeah, I’d like to see Jacqueline Rayner try her hand at writing an episode; I’ve enjoyed most of her novels.

Yeah, I’ve read a couple and they were decent. I haven’t read that many novels, especially the Eleven era, but I saw some titles listed recently and I know there were some other women in there too. And like, just in general, THERE ARE WOMEN IN BRITAIN WHO COULD WRITE A DECENT DOCTOR WHO EPISODE. I almost said “surely” but it’s not even a question.

I think this is on my mind because I was thinking about one of the episodes in s7b that I think sounds interesting, but was (inexplicably imo) given to someone with a bad track record. And I just… why? I mean, I know why, it’s because this dude has already made friends with all the other dudes running the show, so everything just gets passed among them. But it’s super frustrating as both a fan and a woman.

I don’t know enough about the writers to say what the racial breakdown is either but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s literally 100% white.

anonymouscatt asked,
I've been sitting here for several mintues and I can't think of anything that would break your heart. You strike me as the type of fan more likely to point and laugh at things rather than dissolve into a puddle of feelings. :P

 Not inaccurate, tbh

LOL lots of things make me sad when I watch them (well maybe not LOTS) but a simple quote doesn’t usually trigger the kind of instant reaction in me that it seems to trigger in a lot of other people (like “ROSE TYLER, I” — the scene is sad when I watch it, the phrase alone isn’t). CLEARLY I REQUIRE MAXIMUM CREATIVITY IN MEME RESPONSES. It’s also been a while since an episode of TV aired that made me very emotional.

That’s what I meant when I posted the meme and said to use as loose an interpretation of heartbreak as you wanted, btw. Like Karen’s horrifying dystopia, for example.

anonymouscatt asked,
The thing about Mel is true... she was designed for the co-op courses. Unfortunately the designers couldn't figure out how to explain how a person could respawn after "dying" and still come back to finish the course with their partner, so they used robots that could be rebuilt infinte times for the player models instead. The robots also allow you to "kill" your partner accidentally-on-purpose and have it be funny, rather than grim.

Hmmm I guess that makes sense. There would also be less opportunity for GLaDOS to talk about how superior robots are, lol.

BUT STILL, RIP MEL.
